GENSHIN IMPACT

Returning to Teyvat

I originally downloaded Genshin Impact on it's release date back on September 28 2020. I didn't really touch the game until later on in December. At that point I'd gone thru my second playthru of Breath of the Wild and it made me yearn for the mines climb. I decided to give Genshin Impact another attempt and become thorouhgly engrossed in the world of Teyvat.

However, over the years I think a lot of my enjoyment has shifted out of focus. Being a higher Adventure Rank means new characters requires hours of grinding and RNG to become useable. My quest backlog was so massive that I felt paralyzed by all the choices I had whenever I logged on. I hadn't paid the most attention to story in the early days of playing so I felt like there were things I'd missed. Needless to say the idea of "starting over" sounded appealing.

After mulling it over for a while I decided to rip off the band-aid and make a new account. and try desperately not to think about all the time and money wasted on my old one This decision was a smart one because I've been having a blast redoing the story, exploring Monstadt for the first time (well, second first time). I'm picking up on story beats and details I either forgot or never noticed. There's something fresh and fun about doing even old content I've done before. It's exciting.

This time around though I'm gonna do things differently, and tackle the explorations and quests in a way that doesn't overwhelm or bog me down. I'm also recording a lot of my gameplay in the hopes of maybe creating a sort of video log of my time? I love this game and wanna be able to look back and remember my experiences. I also love the idea of starting this written journal here to give periodic updates as I continue my journey thru Teyvat.
